This house in Quinson, France is lush with climbing yellow roses. The archway is part of the original fortifications and church courtyard. The population of this Haute-Provence village is in the neighborhood of 400 people and yet it is well known for it's exceptional Prehistoric Museum.

Beautiful shot, Lainie. I like the haphazard feel of the architecture that characterizes many of the oldest European towns.
Lainie Wrightson replied:
Thank you, Odd .... and I know what you mean about the haphazard feel of the architecture ... sometimes the way they put things together is amazing and yet wonderful to see.

This is such a beautiful place, I am afraid to visit because I would never leave ;) I love all the textures and the light is incredible. But I am hooked on the archway and the roses. Excellent description. - v/f
Lainie Wrightson replied:
Thanks so much, Bob:) This place is a real gem in the back country ... also a place not to blink because you might miss it ... a really tiny sweet little village. Stopping for a drink at the local cafe on main street not only allows you a street front seat but you can pat the cars as they go by:)
Carla Parris
Quaint and charming. I also like the little sparkle of light reflecting off the car seen through the arch over the passageway.
Lainie Wrightson replied:
Carla, Thanks as always for you lovely comments:)
Daniel Eskridge
Beautiful shot Lainie! I love the contracts between the two portals. f/v
Lainie Wrightson replied:
Daniel, thank you so much for commenting. The portals got me, too ... there are actually more arches and passageways .... all a real treat in the exploration.
Patricia Strand
Lainie, after viewing your photos of Quinson, I'm going to put that on my wish list. I love the stone archway and those roses! Nicely seen and captured.
Lainie Wrightson replied:
Pat, So glad I could open your eyes to this sweet little place ...
