Description
A sun halo is typically caused when there are very high and thin clouds. These high clouds are made of ice crystals. The properties of the ice crystals reflect and refract light in such a way that causes a ring around the sun and in other cases even the moon. The halo can also be caused by other fine particles in the air as well. Science aside:spiritual teachers have taught me that it is also thought to be an auspicious blessing and indeed I felt very blessed to see this on the south coast of France.
